make sure your drivers are all up to date. Being an upgrade and not a fresh install, check what programs run at startup. Maybe one at a time disable them with task manager -> startup to see what might be causing it (if anything in that area).

    Hello magic900,

Can you tell us what model and brand PC/Laptop you use?
Your laptop may not be compatible with Windows 10 or needs a specific driver to function properly.

Also can you tell us which option you used to upgrade Windows 10:
    • Keep personal files, apps and Windows settings
    • Keep personal files only
    • Nothing
Upgrading with retention of 'apps and Windows settings' may cause Windows 10 to malfunction by incompatibility with programs or drivers.

if you use a Nvidia driver, there are many issues with them right now.
Try uninstalling the Nvidia driver and just use the Microsoft Basic Video Adapter.
Then, If your operating system works properly, you know that your Nvidia driver
is causing the problem. Try a different Nvidia driver version, it may help as well.

Is it really freezing? Try waiting 3 minutes - yes, a full 180 seconds, use a stopwatch. Thought my 10 was frozen. Disgusted, I left it there to grab a cup of coffee. Just as I returned with the coffee, but before I could dump it on my computer, it began working again. Took some time, but I did find a video driver issue.

My Windows 10 Home on a tablet sometimes are also freezing. There is no startup program. I only installed some famous apps from the store (e.g. Facebook, Amazon, VLC, Wikipedia, ...). I'm trying to investigate but I have a feeling that Windows 10 is not as stable and powerful as Windows 7.
