    I have no idea, man. Driver updates seem to do their own damn thing.

    You could disable automatic Windows updates (lotsa threads in here how to do) and use Portable Update instead (search the web). I started using it since the first NVidia driver fiasco. I run the official NVidia 353.62 drivers and still Microsoft wants me to install the same version because the date in the inf file is one day ahead. And of couse it allways installs crap like their 3D & driver update stuff I never use, but NO PhysX. :mad:

    To me, this absolutely spoils Windows 10. It really does.

    I understand the concept of making ones system safe, but forcing driver updates takes it too far. More so, when I've told it not to, and it just does it regardless of whatever is set, with no choice of 'within that driver package' as to what you want installed.

    Progression I like, but I'm sorry, this is just backwards.

    This is the worst misfeature ever invented. I mean, if drivers were actually reliable, there'd be no problem. But they aren't. For me, HW accelerated video playback (e.g. H264) is broken in the latest driver for my AMD A6-3500 (HD 6530D) APU. I've disabled driver updates and installed the working driver. Then I let the comp sit idle for a while, then the screen blinks, and boom, driver's updated to the broken one again. Then I rollback, then another idle session, another blink, boom, it's broken again. And it goes over and over again. Ridiculous.

    I disabled driver updates from the device installation settings in the Hardware tab in the system properties

    I disabled driver updates from Group Policy

    I disabled driver updates by ensuring the value of the following registry entries are set:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching]
    "SearchOrderConfig"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\DriverSearching]
    "SearchOrderConfig"=dword:00000000

    The moment I connected to the internet all drivers were being installed From Windows Updates.

    Formatted and went back to Windows 7, I will not let anyone control what drivers I run on my system. period.
