You install the MSI cert. using slmgr -ilc CertFileName, then activate the version you installed using one of the published oem:slp keys, installed succesefully ultimate and home premium on wind u100.
search the forum for the key and the cert.

hello, when installing a new key this Windows Script Host's box appear:

    Code:
On a computer running Microsoft windows non-core edition run “slui.exe 0×2a0xBBA” to display the error text. Error 0xBBA
please note: my account is the admin of the machine and I'm installing the key for the right windows 7 version (ultimate).

See they've now released 1.0F and pulled 1.0E - comment says "Modify the string of CPU Frequency for W7."

I would recommend never flash BIOS in Windows - only under DOS. Flashing in Windows is very risky - it is proved statistically! Go to the Manufacturer's site and search for BIOS and DOS utility to flash it.

I can't believe they made it so difficult for people to flash though - surely they could provide an ISO image and tools to put on a USB stick or CD-RW?

Floppy discs, crikey! Luckily I had an external floppy from a work laptop, it was a pain to create and I held my breath while it read the files (floppies were always so unreliable) but all went ok.

Prior to the U100 I had an Advent 4211 (same as U100) which was supported through Dixons. They used different recovery techniques (you created the recovery to a USB stick, it came with no discs) and it had a windows flash utility. I used the MSI BIOS and flashed into the 4211 no problems to get overclocking going. When I bought the U100 though I stuck with the manufacturers instructions and did it in DOS.

It's just not worth the risk to do it in windows, it's likely totally untested by MSI and I also only flash BIOS if necessary too, not every update they give. The risk of bricking the machine is too high.

And anybody knows if MSI WInd U100 1.0F BIOS (latest at the moment) can be flashed into my medion akoya e1210? the original MSI bios without modding.
    Thanks!
