    Hey Guys,

I was just reading about some of the new tablets being released.
Some of them are using a resolution of 1024x600px ?

My old Netbook had that resolution but none of the Metro apps would run.

Was this screen size switched one by an update, or is it only a 'feature' with 'Windows 8.1 with Bing' ???

there is a "scaledown_display-one" reg entry where to adjust it but then you might see a slightly wide screen instead .....

I did that on my Dell mini some time ago.a good workaround but the display looked pretty grim.
Could do with a short cut to switch between 1024x600/1024x768..if it were possible.

    Yeah, I remember that 'fix'
It worked OK on the Metro side, but I think 'grim' is a bit of an understatement for the desktop

There must be a proper way to use a 1024x600px resolution now though, as the new Toshiba tablet is using it.

I wouldn't like to try and use Windows 8.1 on a 7" tablet as that res, but it could be OK on my old 10" Netbook. :g:
