Well, been a wile since a good rant. I must say that this upgrade is one of the most unstable and software maiming pieces of junk that MS has pushed out on the market. Screwed up my settings on a few machines. For instance, I have one enterprise machine that can't load my web page because IIS decided to do a clean up and change my settings. also decided to shut a few services just to protect my life. Now as for one of my Pro machines the MSVCP100.dll decide to take a leap of faith without leaving a goodbye note. Anyone else have a horror story to share? Later dudes.
no sorry, I wish I did. win10 ent/pro/and LTSB are all running like clockwork here. I feel kinda left out, Ive got nothing horrible to mention haha
Is this the new way of using MDL over the last few days? Don't look around and just start new threads for everything!? Just below is a thread already running for those who are'nt happy with the upgrade. Thread.
Couldn't agree more! But be careful there are a lot of ppl out there that can't cope when M$ products gets criticized. They think that we should accept all the M$ crap no matter what, as if M$ was giving it all for free. Well if it was for free, i would NEVER dare to criticize it. With free stuff i could end up being disappointed, but that's the way it goes. But if i pay for something i expect it to work.
I am talking about an enterprise license, we pay big bucks for it, and no there's no free upgrade for enterprise, you just pay your yearly contribution!
The 1511 update seems to be slightly less stable for me than RTM. I can make a direct comparison because I never installed any Insider builds.
I'm finding that default applications, such as VLC, Chrome, etc, are not sticking - they need to be re-applied at seemingly random intervals.
I agree with the OP. The "Upgrade" deleted most (if not all) of my "personizations." My (new, w/clean Windows 10 install) machines came without Windows Media Center so I installed it. WMC was working just fine until the "Upgrade" uninstalled it. The boot-up process originally started the machines with the NumLock function turned off. I fixed it with a Registry Tweak but the "Upgrade" reset the NumLock function to start as "Off." Strange the Registry Tweak wasn't changed but unchecking the "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" option did the trick. I had a bat file that allowed a right-click on the Desktop that gave me access to, among other things, the shutdown items. This, too, was removed. I could go on... In any event, I am ticked that I had to spend a day getting my machine(s) back to "operating" order. What happened to the Personal in PC?
its a bit unstable but 10240 has it woes too, 10 is take it or leave it, that's it 7's still supported and a bunch of linux distros for those that hate windows 10
Not a question of hating Windows. More of a question of having a working Windows first. After you can hate it.
It's been the most stable for me. Even more so than 10240! My only complaint is old third party themes no longer work.
not a single issue with this build it's perfect try a clean install and stop doing the stupid thing and upgrading
