This may sound like a strange request, but i am looking for a windows 2000 professional unmodified original cd image (iso or whatever format is available). If i could get either an RTM image, or one with SP4 built in (don't know if microsoft ever ditributed one). I can't seem to find any information about one on technet (SHA1/filenames). I have four identical test machines (amd athlon64 3800 AM2/1GB DC DDR2800/160GB SATAII HDD/nforce405-6100/etc.) and would like to do an extensive side by side comparison of windows 2000/XP/VISTA/7 professional/business editions. Any information would be very helpful.
LOL, got to love those Internets. Thanks for the links... I had been looking for this too... Downloadify-ing....
Thanks Thank you very much crypto, i have a couple servers still running 2000 (did some work on one a couple days ago and the nostalgia was overwhelming) and those images will come in handy. I'm going to take a look at that article, i got a little confused when i saw windows 3.11/3.1 and workgroups 3.11 but no 2000 because i know a couple companies that never saw any reason to upgrade. UnpackSDC works real well, i've used it on some 2003r2/Vista images flawlessly. OddBallRacing
How can you get those isos, to work with win 2000 pro oem serials. How do you make win2kpro cd into a oem disk, to accept 2000pro oem codes from under laptop?
I don't have any MSDN or TechNet accounts. It's just like XP, except Windows 2000 does not require activation. In the \I386 folder you'll find the file "SETUPP.INI". Open it and you'll see something like this: Code: [Pid] ExtraData=73706F757479657A6276AEDD719900 Pid=51873000 Edit the last 3 digits of the "Pid" value, to dictate which types of keys are accepted, during setup: 000 - Retail keys OEM - OEM keys 270 - Volume license (no key needed) In your case, it would become like this: Code: [Pid] ExtraData=73706F757479657A6276AEDD719900 Pid=51873OEM
Ok I must be a Dumb A**, how do you get the unpacker to work. I downloaded the 1.1 and ran it but nothing???
UnpackSDC is a command line tool. Here are the commands: Code: UnpackSDC 1.1 (c) imagi Usage: UnpackSDC [SdcFile] [OutputDir] <skipcrc> SdcFile - file to unpack OutputDir - directory to unpack to skipcrc - when specified, crc check will be skipped If you still don't know how to unpack, just download the attachment below, extract the files to the same folder where the .sdc file(s) are, and run the "unpack.cmd" file. "unpack.cmd" is a small batch file I wrote, that automatically unpacks all .sdc files, in the current directory. Enjoy!
Thanks Crypto: i really wanted to get my hands on this Software: Code: UnpackSDC [SdcFile] [OutputDir] <skipcrc> SdcFile - file to unpack OutputDir - directory to unpack to skipcrc - when specified, crc check will be skipped My method was to extract the unpacksdc that was in unpacksdc.zip to C: and place the compressed sdc file in the same directory , and ran this CMD. Why would anyone compress the ISO to another format, hope this Win2000 Pro doesn't require a Product key.
-Rename the EN_WIN2000_PRO_SP4.sdc file you downloaded to something short like sp4.sdc -Move or copy the sp4.spc file to the root of c: using windows explorer. -Unzip and copy the unpacksdc.exe file you downloaded to the root of c: -Open the run box- type in cmd and press enter -Once in the DOS window- type in cd\ press enter key- you should be at c:\> now. -Type in unpacksdc.exe sp4.sdc c: -This will extract the iso to the root of c: -You're done. Optional.... now open the ISO image with Power ISO and mod the setupp.ini in the i386 folder to whatever version- retail, OEM, VLK of Win2K you want and save.
Useful information for all who are trying to unpack sdc file with unpacksdc 1.1: you need microsoft .net framework installed first. BTW iso of win 2000 pro, inside sdc file, is real deal.
Does anyone have Windows 2000 file information (iso names, sha1s) and magic download links/torrents/whatever to the pt-br version?
