Folks, I remember back when BartPE was the tool to create a live CD of Windows XP. Does somebody know if it is possible to create a live cd of Windows 7 too ?
There are a few people who are working on a Windows 7 x86 + x64 live USB combo- coming soon When you boot with the live Win7 USB plugged in , you would have the choice between live Win7x86/ live Win7x64 or your normal boot. The project would require a 16gb USB stick, hence no DVD or CD would be suitable.
Yes but that's probably a whole windows 7 installation with all it's features. I think Analyz3r just needs a base os with a couple of features and tools to repare/test/... pc's, and eventually a mini word/excel on it. Stuff like mediacenter are things you normally don't need in a live cd.
6gb for x86 + 8gb for x64 + 2gb dos utilities - that is trimmed down with all the diagnostic/recovery tools, antivirus etc... included. It would have to be a fully working Windows 7 with ability to download programs and updates. doing some research and experiments, with USB 3 around the corner this would be ideal.
