that translation does not help much. it confuses you in the major steps. I have read it over and over again, and still confused as to what the steps are. Can't anyone do a simple good translation of that information?

    this is what i made:
    1) open bios.wph with Phoenix BIOS Editor v2.1.0.0
    2) copy file with slic table (eg ACPI5.ROM) in Phoenix BIOS Editor\TEMP that contains dissassembled/extracted bios.wph
    3) open rom.scr with notepad and add a line eg. "ACPIACPI5.ROM"
    4) open BIOSCOD1.ROM with a text/hex editor
    5) search for "RSDT" string
    6) overwrite string next to "RSDT" with ACRSYSACRPRDCT and save
    7) to enable save button (now is gray) change something random in Phoenix BIOS Editor and restore its original value
    8) save bios and check log for errors

i hope is clearer to understand than google' chinese to english translation since i'm italian so i could make some mistakes :p

I think not. Dell has got special bioses. Is it a Phoenix bios? They usually end with .wph or .rom . Some of them got a Phoenix core.

Problems with BIOS Flash A09 Inspiron 1720 and Microsoft 7

I am trying to install Microsoft 7 (and GET OUT of Vista). Naturally nothing can be easy and I've run into a series of problems.

-- I downloaded microsoft 7 from the microsoft online store
-- I can't complete the setup process until I update the BIOS -- error message is:
Windows cannot be installed on this computer with the current system BOIS versoin. Contact your computer manufacturer for a BIOS update, install the update, and then start windows instalation again. OEM Name: Dell Inc.; OEM Model: Inspiroin 1720 ; BIOS Version: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A04; BIOS Date: 20071105000000.000000+000

-- So, I went to dell and downloaded BIOS A09

-- I went to run it but I am told I have to be an administrator

-- After reading online how to be an admin of my own computer, I logged in as "safe mode" and try to run it again

-- now is where the fun starts -- I get a new error -- it tells me that it won't run due to a flash error, something like this:

    BIOS Flash A09 Inspiron 1720

    0X00000610
    0X0000043C

I've looked online but don't see a solution. I hope I'm posting this in the right place. Would appreciate some advice. I've spent a lot of money on Vista. because it was so *** I added ram and now have 4GB. I also spent $75 to have someone look at my com

I have a sony vaio vgn-fj150. The DMI is screwed up. The machine name is "reserved", Serial number is "reserved" and uuid has a bunch of "ffffffff".
How do I modify this DMI? I can't update drivers or BIOS or restore my laptop using sony softwares because the machine is not valid.
