Hi, i recently updated Windows to 1903. After the update and even a 1903 clean install the transmition of data through a Thunderbolt Network is unaccaptable slow. The Windows 10 Client can receive data through the thunderbolt Network in a normal Speed (3-700MBs) but sending data only (20-30 KByte/sek). My other NIC RJ45 1Gbit Ethernet functions normaly (112/110MB). Here is the Output of netio: Server: [root@nas bin]# ./linux-amd64 -s NETIO - Network Throughput Benchmark, Version 1.33 (C) 1997-2012 Kai Uwe Rommel TCP server listening. UDP server listening. Client (Windows 10): C:\Users\USERNAME>C:\Users\USERNAME\Downloads\netio133\bin\win32-x86_64.exe -t 10.0.0.3 NETIO - Network Throughput Benchmark, Version 1.33 (C) 1997-2012 Kai Uwe Rommel TCP connection established. Packet size 1k bytes: 55.00 KByte/s Tx, 104.53 MByte/s Rx. Packet size 2k bytes: 45.16 KByte/s Tx, 315.23 MByte/s Rx. Packet size 4k bytes: 40.59 KByte/s Tx, 317.36 MByte/s Rx. Packet size 8k bytes: 51.95 KByte/s Tx, 294.32 MByte/s Rx. Packet size 16k bytes: 58.29 KByte/s Tx, 293.21 MByte/s Rx. Packet size 32k bytes: 65.48 KByte/s Tx, 313.23 MByte/s Rx. Done. As you can see, the transmition of data to the Server or the reading of data from the Windows Client is Pretty slow. Does someone have the same issue? What can be the issue? Best
In such cases the usual suspect is driver, especially if everything was working fine earlier & only change was OS update.Try some older versions(or some latest versions of driver even if beta).
I know, but I just cannot find the proper Driver. This is the latest Driver I have found so far: thisissomelink dell.com/support/home/de/de/debsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=tbt79 After install the TB Networking Driver is from december 2018. Someone has a current Driver link?
Try searching on google using device hardware Id value as shown in device manager--driver properties--details.
I did. I tried the following Driver versions with all the same issue: WHQL: 1.41.648.5 1.41.645.0 1.41.565.0 Intel: 17.4.79.510 17.4.77.400 17.4.76.300 16.3.61.275
Then I guess you need to wait for someone here using TB with v1903 to confirm this.Try some recent dell system launched a bit late after release of v1903 & with similar TB connector to see if it got some newer driver.
I tried all newer TB Driver also from Dell, HP, Asrock and Intel. All the same issue. The newest Driver ist from August 2019.
I did try a clean install, no help. What do you mean? Why should my other 1GBit NIC be responsible for the slow data Transfer of another NIC?
My 1Gbit is functioning correctly but not the TB NIC. I thought, if the 1 GBit NIC functions then it cannot be the Firewall or AntiVir. So it has to be a Driver issue. But I tried over 8 different Drivers.
I mean that you should look at something else what is causing the problem not the drivers and prob not the NIC
