Interesting observation, u think its will revive the start menu ? or might work with explorer7 for win8 ?
No, only taskbar (in the W8-1 with button). The Start Menu functions were removed from Explorer.exe. The Russian called probably "Tithy" (or something like that) on this forum with his "StartIsBack" has the most native solution for restoring those functions like they were before in W7. You can found the app in application section. The competition still continues...
Yep, but isn't about AeroLite at all, it is rather about "NoAero". The competition still continues...
it's all about DWM. - If you kill it you i can see fora second the "theme" you want. renaming dwm and restart will present you the theme you want but messes up the system (not really useable). this theme is (i guess) more for terminal sessions as i find some entry of dwm in an exclusion list. I also guess that there is some registry entry which might let you disable the default themen/managing. - unfortunatly in win8.1 there is no uxsms service anymore. Asking bigmuscle should guide you to an answer.
renaming dwm.exe results in a chunk of the right side of the screen being useless, it cuts off anything you make fullscreen.

Thanks everybody for participation, however nobody wins (because it is mission impossible without severely tampering the OS), so I have saved 20 bucks. ] There is however the interesting finding as the result: Even two non-aero themes are still hardcoded in W8-1-1 core: 1. WVista non-Aero style. and even deeper below it: ) 2. W2000 (non-Aero ) style. You will get one or another depending, how deep you will cut into the OS. Thanks again. Case closed.
