For rendering and video editing, more power would be beneficial. I'd recommend 2011-V3 for that reason. You could even go with an Xeon to get more cores than an i7 (check CPU support lists for the motherboard before you buy). 2011-V3 will also support more RAM than 1151, as well as better multi-GPU support if you get a 40 PCI-e lane CPU. 1151 won't give you as many upgrade options. Skylake may give better single-core performance, but video editing and rendering are multi-threaded processes and the more cores you have, the faster it gets done. The gaming performance between the two sockets is probably negligible as the power of the video card dictates >95% of the FPS.

That being said, both options are decent upgrades and will get the job done fine. I'm pretty sure 2011-V3 will be the more expensive option.

Yes indeed 2011-3 will be more expensive bu it will last for future i guess.as i heared also new intel cpu will be 2011-3 based so even if i want upgrade in far future i can use same socket / motherboard

    Thank you

    P.S. Xeon for gaming? :g:
