Have you tried upgrading with GVLK WW98Y? that is the procedure for upgrading Windows 8 Pro, using GVLK then switching key and activating upon successful upgrade
Well, it turned out that upgrade is not available as an option if: - inside Windows one mounts the iso with VirtualClone Drive (I ofcourse might have made a mistake & mounted wrong iso SVR2012, will test again in due course) or - boot iso using Easy2Boot (well, was using way older version, might have been corrected by now) Created USB stick & Upgrade was available with no issues sebus
Don't know if VL iso will make in-place upgrade possible but the retail iso don't allow it, just tested on vm.
