What is your opinion? In my opinion: -OSx86 run nicely virtualized! Excellent way to enjoy nostalgic games, Norton Commander etc. -people having hardware so weak that could not run wxp/vista should install w2k!! -w95/98/Me are old and have no support from M$ any longer -w95/98/Me are hopelessly unstable, running low on memmory, you name it... If you have to - most convenient is to run them virtualized too!
Hi, I have always a open ear when I can gain knowledge. For me personally multiboot OSes (Mac OS and Vista) sounds interesting. I would like to know more about Mac OS, I don't like Linux.
Seen the participation in that poll... What name should it have? If one can deliver me a name, I'll have an instant talk with the admin
Hi ancestor(v)! To stay conform with the existing layout I suggest the following: ____________________________________________________________ Computing Life Everyday matters about computer hardware and software. ____________________________________________________________ Windows 7 Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows 7. (<-last dot is missing compared to the others) Windows Vista Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows Vista. Windows XP Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows XP. Windows Server 2008 Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows Server 2008. Windows and Linux Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows and Linux. Virtualization Technical support or share tips and tricks on Virtualization. Application Software Software, utilities and tools that automate or help to perform your tasks. ____________________________________________________________ Anyone else have any suggestions? -Come on people - with > 500 views in one day (both polls) we know YOU HAVE GOT AN OPINION!! -Please tell us the name of the new section(s)! ...and let us hope both sections will get approval... ...
First let me thank you for your thoughts about to create more sections and to make mydigitallife more attractive. My opinion: Me and friends of mine don't use virtual machines. Most of them are running Vista and XP as real multiboot or Vista only. Since we have a XP and Vista section already, I've asked about another OS of their interest. They agreed it should be Mac OS.....why not change this: Windows and Linux Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows and Linux. to: Mac OS and Linux Technical support or share tips and tricks on Mac OS and Linux. Even though I have almost 2000 post written I'm specialised for difficult bioses / Vista XP OS and I'm busy with the WoW project I think I'll cannot contribute that much to the new sections...... .....so let the poll decide...... Edit: I don't mean multiboot Linux and Mac OS......just a shared section for Mac OS and Linux
Therefor, with your input in mind... ...to stay conform with the existing layout, I suggest the following: __________________________________________________ __________ Computing Life Everyday matters about computer hardware and software. __________________________________________________ __________ Windows 7 Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows 7. Ok guys, thanks for your opinions. I'll just combine some ideas I'd like...what do you think about them? new subforum 1: Windows + other OSes (Linux/Mac/FreeBSD...) Technical support or share tips and tricks on Windows + other OSes (Linux/Mac/FreeBSD etc.) new subforum 2: Virtualization Technical support or share tips and tricks on Virtualization. So we would then have one section about Windows combined with whatever OS one could think of and one special virtualization section. I think two new ones is enough for the instant, then let's see how it's developing...don't want to end up with the longest board index mankind could imagine, e.g. just like having 200 subforums for every kind of thinkable OS/combination. I'll write to the admin now...let you know then
Ok, we're in The Admin agreed, and if the asked people agree we're going to open the new two subforums, as described in my post above...
