3TB Disk on 2012R2

    I have server 2012R2 datacenter as domain controller and file server,
    however my max of hdd is 2TB, I tried to extend it to 3TB and its not allowing me to.
    any suggestions how to do this ?

    convert it to GPT disk. MBR disks can not be larger than 2TB

    cengizhan is correct. If you have installed as legacy/mbr, the max partition size is 2tb with the rest unusable...

    thank you guys, ive managed to convert the disk to gpt and the issue is fixed, unfortunately had to wip the mbr first

    There is no need Wipe it. Just convert to GPT... Without losing any data. But beware, if you reverse it, you will lose it..
