If anyone gets their hands on the hyper-v and datacenter versions, please magnet them and share... you don't have to do it forever, just enough for us to get the file and then propagate it ourselves
Maybe the evaluation center's ISO is different from the MSDN/Technet ISO, similar to the case of Windows 10 client. I'm more interested in the datacenter VHD, which can be easily converted to VHDX for native boot.

The direct download versions don't match the MSDN files. It's likely they are the EVAL variants like Enterprise has. *EDIT: actually a delta reveals a very minor difference.. Likely the only difference is a small text file like PID.txt or ei.cfg
This is the difference (in 35% of the files): Another (14) small differences are in the very end of the files (in 99% of the files), these resemble something like checksums.
Under the Preinstall Information on the Windows Server Technical Preview download page, it says "A product key is not required for the ISO installation." And after registering there to download the file, if you log in the MSDN Subscriptions page, you might be able to see the Windows Server Datacenter Technical Preview key as a static activation Key under the My Product Keys menu even your current subscription is expired.
