I would try to copy and paste the last 100000h bytes of the *.exe into a separate file *.ROM. It's probably a Phoenix bios, new structure.....cannot hexedit here..........
OK, have now found the biosfile: Copy offset AA030h to 1AA02Fh into a new biosfile and name it e.g. BIOS.ROM, open it with PBE! ACPI7.ROM is your SLIC table. It's only mapped a half and hence unusable. Steps to enable: Rename it to e.g. SLAC and insert a complete new one as ACPI8.ROM. If you trust PBE let it rebuild the bios. The new ACPI table should appear now fully mapped. Copy and write the modified bios to its original offset into the exe again. When you PBE let rebuild the bios the offsets of the modules have changed, yes (Location, addresses of the modules). If you use ACER SLIC2.1 you'll lose Vista activation anyway, because there is no certificate available for the new SLIC2.1. Simply to replace ACPI7.ROM with the new SLIC2.1 will not work. As result you'll get the same, a only half mapped SLIC2.1 You have to rename it to SLEC and to introduce a complete new one. Since I don't trust PBE at all, I would do it completely manually. This is a complex operation, yes....but possible.....Acer SLIC 2.1 will deactivate Vista... Get latest PBE at biostool thread!

When I open the bios file it's always show some error even I use the newest PBE, that's mean I should use manual method right ? -Is there any thread I can read about manual method ? -How can I make sure that my modded bios won't crash my notebook ?
Hello Yen, How did you figure out where the bios file was within the exe file? How did you know the SLIC was only half mapped? (I am experimenting with a similar bios update exe file from gateway.)
Open ACPI7 with winhex and change "SLIC" to "SLAC" or "SLEC" then save it. Your other questions will need to answered by Yen. What model is your Extensa?

Please help Yen. My slic2.1 is seem to be uncompleted ,it's contain many zero when using Rw-Everything to look at slic. Please help me fix it.
