    From hexview, it seems to be grub bootloader with 2.1 slic. Similar to the one vista crack.

    This is great, works like a charm for the time being.... i'm waiting for a ACER 2.1 Compatible OEM Certificate

    The DELL QA09 SLIC is loaded in memory after booting from CD, works on both systems with existing SLIC (the one in memory overwrites it) and without SLIC.
    Just install DELL Oem Certificate and Install Ultimate OEM:SLP key

    No physical loaders are installed on your system (and thus cannot be removed/disabled)

    thx for sharing!

    all, it "fakes" being a DELL by loading the DELL SLIC in memory during boot

    thanks just to clarify this only needs to be done once . i.e. doesnt need iso in drive each time for boot

    yes, it has to be in the drive every time...

    This looks like a hassle but in my opinion is not, eg: I have 2 dvd-drives of which 1 I hardly use
    The good part of this technique is the fact that it does not install anything on physical drives etc, bootloaders on partitions (hidden or not) can be detected and removed/disabled... boot-loader on read-only media like cdrom can be detected but can not be disabled/removed

    Being sarcastic?
    Anyway i prefer methods like this the as Grub lo*der is read from read-only media, and thus cannot be removed/deactivated by any MS anti-measure...

    Got it to boot from my U3 System Drive after all, selected wrong drive in boot-sequence (not completely my fault, as the BIOS recognized one as CD/DVD drive which i selected first in the boot sequence and one as USB, where the boot menu saw 2 USB drives?)

    @69218, great tip! :)
