I get Error: 7 Taskbar Tweaker: Could not load library but after that program starts. And after applying changes I get another error: 7 Taskbar Tweaker: Not attached to explorer
Oh, now I understood what you meant by that. No. I'm using Ultimate x64 RTM... so it's not supposedly working yet You should move that "only" word to different location... like "Also, it works only on x86 atm."
taskbar tweaker i thought you could right click taskbar then properties, the drop down menu gives you, combine, never combine, hide labels etc.
Not really. Even if you choose the "never combine" option, buttons from the same process are sticked together, so you cannot reorder them the way you want to. Also, you cannot disable grouping for buttons without labels.
well this didnt work for me on either of the computers i use one is win7 x64 and the other is win7 x86 and both are ultimate
I have not tested this or actually looked at it, but I would question if you have disabled UAC or selected to "run as administrator". UAC can be very picky about applications modifying registry keys that are not actually owned by that program (guessing that this is what it's doing, then again maybe it's not for it to be tied to x86 only).
I know this has probably been discussed but i was wondering how to get the "double stacked taskbar" with smaller icons. Edit: Nevermind i was having a brainfart xD
Version 1.1 is out! - Added a new option: cycle through windows of a grouped button on left click instead of showing a thumbnails preview. - The 64-bit version of the tweaker did not unload correctly.
Danke schön! Gut gemacht. Can you add the version information to the tool, to the archivename and to posting #1? Thanx. Grüße aus Deutschland.
Thanks for this The only part of the new taskbar that pisses me off is how you can't click on the icon to get to the program you want. Thankfully, this solves that. I have no idea why Microsoft thought it was a good idea to bring up the previews on left-click...
If you can the threshold for turning the thumbnails into List view that would be great. It's set by default at 10 thumbnails before it changes to List view, this is to high.
OK, I looked at it, and that's how it works: The actual default number of maximum thumbnails to show is 16. Now, every time your mouse hovers over a button, explorer makes some calculations based on your resolution, and makes a second value of maximum thumbnails to show (which is 10 on a 1280x1024 resolution). Then it takes the smaller of the two, and if you have more buttons than this value, it shows a list instead. To change the default value, which is 16, create the following value in your registry: NumThumbnails as a DWORD in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband And set it to the desired maximum number of thumbnails to show.
Which registry keys does 7 Taskbar Tweaker modify? I like the program and I'd love to know how it works so I could make a .reg file for future auto-installs.
