8.1 does not work with windows 8 genuine serial ?

    Hello.

    I have on my computer windows 8 pro and i wanted to update it to windows 8.1.

    I burned the iso Windows_8.1_EN-US_x64.ISO and tried to install it.

    When installing it wants a serial number and my windows 8 genuine serial does not work.

    Do you know why ?

    Use install only Key to install & when setup complete then use your genuine key to activate...

    you have to install it with a 8.1 gvlk key then activate with your windows 8 retail key online or phone:)

    Hello and thank you for your answer.

    @rrohela : When i launch it, it ask me if i want to download important updates or not and then ask for the key !!!
    @Jessica Alba : Where can i find this key ?

    I installed with the key of pisthai

    but i still have 2 problem.

    I don't find how to install the french language pack fr-fr/lp.cab

    and i don't find how to insert my genuine key ?

    Open the Settings charm and go to PC Settings. Go to the Activation category. There should be a button to enter a new product key.
