    Hey guys,

I was wondering what version i should use.

I would like to "harden" my other Win8.1 machine, but first reformat it, but don't know if i should use enterprise or pro?
    Thanks

That blog was written way before the GWX app appeared.

I have not heard of anyone using Enterprise software being nagged to death to upgrade to Windows 10. :D

Yes, use Enterprise if you can and you won't be bugged by MS to upgrade to Win10.

That's why I only keep Enterprise images of Win7 and 8.1 now.

Yes if you pay your MSDN fees or VLSC (Volume Licensing Service Center) fees.

If you must Windows 8.1 then only Embedded, has all the c**p cut out (like LTSB Win 10)

Embedded, I've read like they are no for gaming is it ?
I'm going for Win8.1 Update 1 Enterprise 64bits for my machine, Will go to LTSB Win10 Enterprise 64bits later..

    EDIT : it's the Update 3

Embedded is basically the same as the "normal" version, just without the metro crap.
If you don't need any metro apps then go for embedded, there are no cut downs for games

nothing from MS that is Volume is free, only standard Home/Pro are available for general public. Unless you DL'ed evaluation VL iso's or someone passed you a direct link (time bombed) from VLSC or MSDN.
