Just wondering what everyone thinks of 8.1? Good / bad / meh? I figured 8.1 would address a lot of criticisms of 8, and I'm not really sure if they have been or not. Anyone going back to 7 or 8.0 after experiencing 8.1? I'm not a fan of Modern UI. I don't have a problem with change, but it's change for the sake of change, not to actually improve upon things.
Stuck with 8, and I'll likely stick with 8.1. I have no reason to not use either although my laptop is on Linux atm from 8.1, might just keep it that way
i ask this question several time everyone told me 7 is the best am also thinking because 8.1 many more compatible issues ..softwares want to update for 8.1 many software wont update .and also video running is not smoothly i asked to ms support .8 have no problem but the ui is very bad when anything we install all items show in start tile ..no categories or management also uninstall icon of a application will show in start tile that was so bad...am now using 8.1 i want to reinstall windows 7 ultimate ..wait until they stable
I'm getting real tired of Win8.x haters in the Windows 8 section... Please post that stuff in the Win7 section if you love it so much.
I'm *trying* to like Win 8.1 - but I just can't understand why in the world I am. I'm running 8.1 in VMware, but dual boot Win 7 Pro and Linux on an SSD in my main box's OS's. I believe if it came down to *YOU must make a choice* - but NOT Win 7, then I would choose Linux over Win 8.1.
How bout you do this... You put windows 8.1 on a test machine or Virtual Machine and test this out for yourself? You're going to get a bias view on how lovely or ugly Windows 8.1 is either way so that's probably the best way to do this... yourself.
My opinión is based on me testing Win 8.1 on several desktop configurations, it suxx on desktops but it's great on the Surface tablet, IMHO
Windows 8.1 is superb. lol, even my grandma has no problems using it. just a lot of haters out there, they say windows 8/8.1 sucks without justifying it.
I will definitely upgrade to win 8.1 from win 8 (present system). I have legal keys for both. However, I will wait for a few weeks till (a) 1-2 drivers needed for my win 8.1 work (b) I test new backup software compatible with secure boot.
Why you think it is troll, it is not. I am sure, had this thread been started by a "senior" MDL, or even just by an "MDL member", he would have thanked many times so far.
I would straight away post a question to all Win 8 haters. 1. You can disable and directly boot to Desktop in Win 8.1, so there's no metro [for Metro haters] 2. Start Menu debate - You have tons of applications out there can bring that back, or better use much better option [Windows + S] now tell me single reason why are you hating it with valid point, just don't debate. Just tell this is clearly not there.
Correct in my opinion. Hazard to say that thanks is a mutual back-pat business for some. However, the mods/admin have to take a call on this thread. If they feel it worthwhile, it will remain, or it will close when they wake up (sure everyone has to sleep and pursue other matters).
