This model elitebook uses a small black dongle/connector for its sata hdd port(s- if you count the optical drive bay), but for the life of me I can't find the part number or what hp calls it, or how they're known in general. I've tried sata adapter, sata dongle, and sata connector (on ebay) and find no one sells these, am I missing something? Do these go by a special name or something?
@michela the 8730w doesn't use any cables it's just the dongle, maybe one from the older dv series might be compatible. @thedev thanks I actually needed this, but alas the part is not described anywhere, must be included in the motherboard itself. I have an even older 8710w so if worse to worse comes I'll probably end up using that. Thank you guys.
