Same here, And I really hope you are able to tackle the condition you're suffering from. @Enthousiast :hug2:

And I am in a similar situation as well, but my last blood test I had came back was pre-diabetic type-2. Also suffering from deformities in both sides of my hips (left hip is worse), which makes walking difficult especially uphill or steps\stairs. And unfortunately I had a heart attack back in June 2013, so on heart meds for the rest of my life.

I'm sorry to hear about everything you’ve been through—it sounds like you’ve had a lot to manage over the years. It’s good that you’re keeping on top of things with your meds and tests, though I can imagine how challenging it must be with the hip issues as well. Take care buddy!

Thanks, it's not easy the past few years and I have just recently had my bathroom converted into a wet room by the council with a new stand in shower and seat (as I could not use the bath anymore). And handrails to help me get up and down.

I am thinking of moving in the next couple of years, as where I am living at the moment isn't the right place for my mobility issues. I and I'm sure @Enthousiast appreciate all the support. :hug2:

As a fellow type 2 though i doubt you probably have the time, i'd recommend joining
Diabetes Community, Support, Education, Recipes & Resources
Although it is a uk based forum, it has members worldwide. There are some seriously knowledgeable
members, who know far more than the majority of the medical profession.
I don't know your personal circumstances, but many of us on the forum, control our Diabetes with diet
alone, having ditched the med's, including Insulin. I believe the top trump so far was a diagnosis with
an Hba1c in excess of 200 mmol or 11.1%.

@Enthousiast, as with others here... glad to have you back

From personal experience, got diagnosed with Type-2 in my mid 50s
At the time I weighed in at a whopping 175 Kilos.. with Blood Sugar Reading of 315 mg/dl (17.5 mmol/L) <--- based in the UK
and somewhat like @ajbod above, was not prepared to endure a regimen of medication/insulin for the remainder of my life
So (after some research) took the drastic measure of having a major part of my stomach removed (as opposed to having a gastric band fitted)
The consequence of which is my weight is down to 95 Kilos and with Blood Sugar Reading of 80 mg/dl (4.4 mmol/L)... have been in remission for over 10 years now.

Best of luck to you going forward, same for @steven4554

My doctor recommended Mounjaro and it is very well effected. My A1C went done from 8.1 to 6.8 just for using Mounjaro for 4 weeks... and now my doctor is even adding up to the doses. I also feel i lost some of my weight. Mounjaro is so useful I say. Stay safe out there!

    (OP)
I use the pill variant now; rybelsus, semaglutide (Novo Nordisk).

    My experience this far:

    First 2 weeks:

    - when stopping with jardiance and starting with rybelsus (starter dosage 3mg per day), my eye site was improving to the point that i could read the txt on my cellf phone without having to focus very hard or use reading glasses.
    - gaining 4kg weight

    After the second week:

    - My eye site went back to before and got even worse, my right eye was very painful and it looked like i was watching thru a door spy or after getting eye drops when eye examinations in the hospital.
    - Feeling bloated
    - No bowl movement at all for a few days
    - Feeling tired, wanting to sleep all day
    - Feeling depressed/low energy/can't focus

Now at full dosage (7mg per day, can be increased to 14mg per day when needed):

    - Probably getting a bit used to the meds and some of the side effects mentioned before are getting a bit better but overall still tired/down and my eye site not improving anymore (just started the second week at 7mg per day so have to wait some more i assume).
    - Next month new blood tests and doctors appointment for assessment.

My sugar levels (long term (hba1c) was 100 for the last 20 years, 2 years ago it peaked at 116 and with the jardiance it was down to 87, i also take metformine 2000mg per day). My daily level 10-14 (i don't know the international terms for this but 54 hba1c and 5 daily should be very good),

Thanks for all the info and suggestions:hug2:

Good to see you are on semaglutide. Word of caution keep hydrated daily every day! One of the things Drs. don't tell you is these drugs cause kidney stones when you become dehydrated.(Even if you are not predesposed) Stay safe Enthousiast & good fortune.

When i take the pill, very early in the morning, i can't eat or drink for at least 30min but i noticed i am thirsty all day, i drink a lot during the day:)

Weird fact is that when the bloodsugar is high, the need to drink and pee is high too, some of the side effects of these pills are the same as the problem you take the pills for :D
