A modified script to activate Office 2010 retail version by using MAK Actually this modified script is based on the one that letsgoawayhell has released in the thread "How to convert Office 2010 Retail Installation to Office 2010 VL ??" @ #279. This script does not replace the tokens.dat instead it is installing the certs that are required for MAK activation and validation. And this is better for you since you do not need to edit / replace the existing files, instead you just need to install required stuffs for activation. Since I have seen a lot of people confusing to use the certificate that provided by him, I decided to make the process more simple by creating a script that installed a leaked MAK, the certificates provided by him (currently the MAK key is still working but it should be used for testing only). Since I don't have much time to test it .... the script could still be a little bit buggy atm (but @ least it works for me for @ least 3 times) .... if you have successfully installed the key, you should remember to activate the key only by phone since the MAK has already exceeded the activation limit for online activation. All the credit goes to letsgoawayhell as he has nearly created the whole thing up. I am just the one who wrap all those things together. Have fun with this MAK key permanent activation (although the key may not be last for long) P.S. You still have to install the retail setup with a retail key first, after that you can remove it by calling Code: cscript "%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /unpkey:<Last five digits of the CD Key that you want to remove> in command console. And you can have list of installed CD Key of office 2010 (as showing out the last five digits) by calling Code: cscript "%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /dstatus in the command console. Currently this script doesn't work on WoW64 as I don't have time to collect the registry file to do so. I will write a small program for it once I have got enough time to do so.
Actually I think it is harder to ban a MAK (especially those unpopular ones) since it doesn't require to perform any activation / contact with the Microsoft KMS (every 6 months) ............... but by using a emulated KMS (miniKMS) on local computer, I guess it is actually easier to be detected as Microsoft can check whether the KMS activation is based on the local computer or not. btw do you know what this edition is used for? It is Microsoft Office 2010, it is different from Professional Plus, Standard, Home and Student, Home and Business and Professional suites. It has only one license type and maybe it comes with its own installer.
*cough* does anyone really care if microsoft puts mak key on blocklist? i mean, if you backup your activation files, you can always reinstall and reactivate. it's not like you re-format your computer every 2 months.
There's no OGA for Office 2010 yet. Even if there will be OGA, I'm sure the hackers will have their ways.
Uh how did you activate the product? You cannot activate it by connecting the official MS KMS ...... you can only activate via phone activation (offline activation) ...... if you have used the official MS KMS for activation ......... you will get the following message in the event log : MESSAGE: License acquisition failure details. hr=0xC004C020 ERROR DESCRIPTION: The activation server reported that the Multiple Activation Key has exceeded its limit. You can check this by using Code: cscript "%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs" /dhistoryacterr btw I am pretty sure there are more leaked MAK available on the Internet atm ..... I will give you one by pm once I have found a new MAK btw I am investigating a new method to activate the product by using Office 2007 product key ..... I will start a new thread and give out a new tool for that purpose .....
I used VAMT 2.0 to check the key, and the remaing activation count was 0. But the key was posted on several Chinese forums, so then it's not so strange that it is used up fast.
Which is why the OP says you have to "Telephone activate" which I think it's strange that they'd continue to phone activate it.
It's the same with normal MSDN/Technet licenses. You have 10 online activations, and at least 15-25 phone activation per license. On a MAK key with 500 activations - it can be all from 10-1500 phone activation. Nobody has posted that info directly from MS, but I have heard about 1.500 activation (online and phone) on a 500 act MAK key from MSDN/Technet.

Funny thing...the MAK key used in this script got at least 3000 activation today (night time here in Norway). Now, after only 14-15 hours, it's down to 1000 activations left, and going down fast. Feeling sorry for the company that has that key...they have i big problem when their 3000+ MAK key is used up in one day. Discovered another key that was used up, and now it's has 28.000 activations, so somebody has called MS and got a refill. Glad that I keep old keys in VAMT, because suddenly the MAK keys is filled up again. When the key is marked "blocked" I deleted it from VAMT.
lol wtf actually I created this script just for showing how to use MAK key in retail version of office 2010 ...... I didn't expect a lot of user can use it since it has been leaked for @ least 3 ~ 2 months already ........ anyway when I check about the remaining activation time last time ...... it was 0 and now it has suddenly changed to 813 ...... As of 2/9/2010 05:05 GMT the remaining activation finally reached 0
