Lets say Windows 7 is already activated and later on the key becomes blacklisted. So does it means OS will go into "none genuine mode" even when WAT bad hotfix was not installed?

Thanks for a good answer acrsn.I have backed up my MSDN retail token so this means if the key will become blacklisted and later i decide to reinstall OS all i have to do is to restore token key files that does not call home :)

I just do not like using any kind of patches or cracks even when i know they are clean. So i got MSDN retail key off eBay.

And you're absolutely positive you are the only eBay user that bought that particular key.

Sure am.The key comes from MSDN subscription where someone has a real MSDN account where they can generate unique keys unlike those Asian copies.

Well the key can be blacklisted if Microsoft finds out MSDN account is misused. If someone reports it that eBay seller is selling MSDN keys.

But let's hope that doesn't happen since it'll mean you paid good money for a pirated key that is no longer working.

What happens when it becomes non-genuine? Are you then not privy to updates and stuff, therefore, putting your pc at risk? Do you then wait for someone else to create a different hack? Or, do you have to reinstall the OS again?
