    Hi,
I am new to the forum. I've been reading a lot of threads and I got really confused over how to activate Win7.
Basically I see people talking about SLIC/certificate and win 7 lo*der. Are they two different methods or are they to be used together? Do they both involve BIOS modification? If so what is the difference (i.e. which one is less risky in terms of producing a bricked computer?)
I am using Lenovo T61 with a slic version 2.0. Which is a better solution for me? I see a lot of posts about slic, but also people say win 7 lo*der is much better and is like the older vista lo*der which worked perfectly

Thanks a lot for giving me some tips!

    Modified BIOS is better*
    Windows 7 Loader is easier*

    *This is all relative.
For me, it was easier to flash my BIOS since it's a one time thing and I'm comfortable with, and know the risks associated in flashing my BIOS.
For the average person, even those with a fair bit of technical know-how, the Loader is the better choice since it's safer.

If I'm not mistaken, it'd be quit a bit easier for Microsoft to detect and disable the Loader than the BIOS, but unlikely since it's been around since Vista.

No matter which way you decide to go, I would HIGHLY recommend spending the 10~15 minutes to read and absorb the information in the Windows 7 Repository thread that tripper23 linked. It's full of good information.
