I have AO756-1007Css with HM70 chipset. I would like to install an unlocked bios to change the initial GPU RAM setting.

But, I would like to be sure that I can restore the original BIOS if something goes wrong.

So i copied original HM70x64.fd (both the same and the newer version) to 32MB FAT16 formatted partition on USB flash, renaming it to BIOS.fd (that is the name that phoenixtool reported), and then entered Crisis recovery by holding Fn+Esc, plugging in the AC power and pressing the power button. The netbook entered the Crisis mode (fans were spinning at max speed) and after 10-15 seconds it beeped with three long beeps and rebooted to the old bios and no update took place.

What am I doing wrong, does the crisis mode work only when POST doesn't succeed? I haven't tried any modded bios roms so far.

The netbook came with BIOS/EFI version 2.13 and I was able to flash the same version using the Windows InsydeFlash.exe, but when I copy the same (or newer) HM70x64.fd file to BIOS.fd on USB and try crisis mode, the above happens.

Here are the links to original BIOSes:
