Hi! I have tried to unlock my laptops Insyde BIOS with replacing my SetupUtility module from an other unlocked BIOS. This is the second case i bricked my laptop. In the first case, i recovered my laptop with BIOS file on pendrive and FN + Esc keys. Now i have tried to recover with a correct BIOS file, but it reads the pendrive for 5-10 seconds, turns off for a half second while reading the pendrive then it turns on for a minute (no pendrive activity), then shuts down. What is the problem? Why it can't reflash the correct BIOS file? Many thanks for help, im very sad...
youll likely need usb spi programmer like ch341a and sop8 test clip for it to reflash the .bin thats in the .zip of bios dloads for it.
So its impossible with a pendrive and the BIOS file? It looks like starts reading the pendrive, but it get size error? Why it cant flash the file?
Now something changed, EIH30X64.FD, FLAs**t.EXE, Update.bat on pendrive with 64Mb partition. It now reads for a bit more, 10 seconds, and then shut down, but dont turn on again... I do this: Remove AC adapter, but battery stay in Press FN + Esc, plug in AC Wait 5 seconds, turn on the laptop with power button I do it wrong? Without battery, i dont get pendrive activity. When it starts read the pendrive, the fan gets noisy.
Now i have flashed the original BIOS file with SPIPGM. I checked it twice, the file is on chip same as i have flashed, but the Power led just blinks, the laptop won't turn on... On Acer website, i can download 2Mb BIOS file, but the chip is 4Mb. What is the problem?
Problem solved, i have flashed a file without EC firmware, after flahing the good file with EC firmware, its working. Thanks for LatinMcG for the SPI idea.
