    Goto file---->load ACPI information---->from bios.
    Search for the SLIC table. Once found check its size (176h).
    Now Vista has to activate. No SLIC, no activation.

    yeah interesting...so you think that the slic actually shows? looking at a friends ga-965p-ds3 with isarom add on and with acpiscope the rsdt table doesn't show anything underneath it at all if you load from bios. look at the registry and you see it there...just wondering if that was normal because it didn't seem that way....don't have anything else to compare it with that doesn't have a table already....

    weird....why do not think acpiscope doesn't see it but registry obviously thinks its there?

    Strange! But Vista activates? Was a softmod installed before?

    Just checked it at a ASUS machine with ISA mod. Info from bios: SLIC is there.
    Info from registry: No SLIC!!!
    There was never a softmod installed on this machine.
    So it's vice versa here!

    no softmod...even reinstalled to see what happens. read from bios shows rsdp and nothing else...nothing...no rsdt at all. read from registry and its there. even more interesting put the machine to sleep and upon wake up the registry one is still there but everest says its size is 1025 bytes...guess its corrupt...something in the wake up overwriting it....problem is i can't see it in acpiscope to see what it looks like...guess its a disassemble memory time....interested in whats going on...even more interesting that your the other way around....odd

    Well, AcpiScope is a quite old application. And the programming of the ACPI tables is a picky thing. When you have a look at the revision of bioses you'll often see a corrected sleep state issue.

    Another problem is to read the correct values out of the bios. The bioses are programmed in a different way, and almost no one of the programmers care about the (ACPI) specifications.

    So you often get wrong or different values (e.g. DMI, CPU temperature, frequencies... and so on...). It depends on the program which you are using therefore.
