I have to do a repair install of ATH almost every time, MS gives any udate, also the REPAIR, works and I never have to RE Activate. so for me Im sure the RE Activate is what messes up his ATH.

As I was in the shower, I remembered that in the ESU bypass thread next door, there are reports of problems on 32 bit systems every now and then. Therefore, I have now Acronis 2014 installed on my 32 bit test system with Windows 7, ESU-updated. Even the installation crashed at the end, Acronis could not even start. :( Activation works pretty fine.

I started "LiveOS-Setup.cmd" from the "BypassESU-v11" and executed the item "[6] Remove .NET 4 ESU Bypass". After that Acronis started without any problems and works as expected! Maybe this is also your problem?

    edit:
The same problem exists with ATI 2021 :( --> Workaround: Remove .NET 4 ESU Bypass!

    Thanks...
    update:
I reinstalled 2014, activated, same error:
Faulting application name: TrueImage.exe, version: 17.0.0.6673, time stamp: 0x52f0fb16
Faulting module name: MSVCR80.dll, version: 8.0.50727.6229, time stamp: 0x4ec352ab
    than installed 2017, activated, error:
Faulting application name: TrueImage.exe, version: 20.0.0.8058, time stamp: 0x594bc28d
Faulting module name: MSVCR120.dll, version: 12.0.21005.1, time stamp: 0x524f7ce6

Looks like the ms c++ runtime dll's are not executing correctly allthough they ARE loading !

Will try to remove the .NET 4 ESU Bypass next...

Confirm: after removing .NET 4 ESU Bypass TrueImage.exe working !

Thanks for your feedback! Good to know, that this is the troublemaker and not Acronis itself.

The problem has followed me into the shower. Assumption, flash thoughts, test on my system and I found the troublemaker :p

    you're welcome

I think they are isolated cases. Individual cases because only a few still use 32 bit systems in contrast to most who use 64 bit systems without such problem. I have not followed up on whether someone is searching for a (final) solution. Workaround works (Only bypass .NET during a windows-update).

Here in this thread we talk about Acronis True Image, NOT about Acronis Cyber Backup!

    Feel free and create one!

I think THAT to bee the main point - because of the AV functionality - great excuse to take more money... :D
