I have installed server 2008 r2 in a virtualbox (Debian Squeeze host) and am wondering how to activate it best in this way, since I don't have such abilities as SLIC/SLP setting? Thanks.

Interesting, but I suppose I must have meant SLP, as that is what Server 08 uses right? SLIC is for XP only I believe.

    Just reverse.... SLP = XP & Server 2003; SLIC 2.0 = Vista & Server 2008; SLIC 2.1 = 7 & Server 2008 R2 ;)

Yes I was just looking at Windows Loader. I read this in its description:

Presumably then if I just set the SLIC value in the VirtualBox config, Windows Loader will do the rest? Rather than manually finding the certificates and key which I had to do for XP.

You can use the loader without a modded VB Bios. It's tested on VB anyway like that.

Please read the thread as mentioned previously

SLIC does NOT get setup in config (unless you know something that the rest of us don't?)
