Hey guys, So. I have this laptop that came with Windows 8 core. I installed windows 8.1 Pro N x64 update 3. It is VL. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro N x64 april 2016 update. I could not activate win 10 Pro N. I kept getting the digital entiltment error. I tried Win 8.1 Pro N x64 retail version same issue =\. What am I doing wrong? How do I activate it? Please, any help?
What do you mean by DE error? Sometimes it take MS activation servers weeks to activate you, if you've had Win 10 on that computer before it will activate
I never activated Windows 10 Pro N x64 on this laptop before.. This is the error I get: "activation failed valid digital entitlement"
Seems to be that you'll need either a valid (legal) Windows 8.1 Product Key or install Windows 8 Core again, which should be activated automatically, upgrade to Windows 8.1 Core, should also be activated and after that update to Windows 10 Core! Your Product Key for Windows 8 Core will work only for a Windows 10 Core Version! If you'd installed 8.1 Pro VL, you used KMS service for activating! If you update to Windows 10 Pro, it should also be a VL version, which would need to activate using KMS Service too! There quite some ways to get Windows 8, whatever Version you like, and you'll find all ways to activate on this Windows 10 Forum, just take the time, search and read about it.
