    Hello,

First time poster here, so I hope I post in the right area...
Ok, I got a new Pavilion a6826f with Windows Vista Home Premium. I would like to do a clean install of windows 7 Pro or Ultimate and I would like to know if someone can help me with using the bios oem option to Activate Windows 7:

    1. Install a certificate that matches the SLIC's brand of your new BIOS.
    2. Install an OEM SLP key that matches your edition of Windows by finding the following:
a Install a certificate that matches the SLIC's brand of your new BIOS.
b Install an OEM SLP key that matches your edition of Windows.

I have found the OpaTool, 40certs.zip and SLIC_Dump_ToolKit_V2.0.rar. But how do I find all the information and use it to activate my windows 7?
I mean I have kept a partition of my old vista os. Can I find that information on that drive by doing a search and copy necessary files over?

I know this is the best way to activate the os and i would like to be able to do it this way. Again, I have read as much as I can but I am missing the proper steps to make this happen and I was hoping that someone could help me out.

    Regrads,

If you want to add the SLIC 2.1 to activate the machine like HP would, supply a bios link for your machine, and a RWEverything report..

If you want a loader, it may or may not work..

You most likely DO NOT have the proper code to activate Windows 7...

Thanks for the response 911medic... Yea I want to do the bios options, but if the currect processor is slic 2.1 compliant (it that is the correct term) why would I need to modify the bios?

Also so I would go under the request a bios and post that information there?

    Regards,

Get a rweverything report to see if the bios has the slic..you have given me no information. I can look at the bios and tell you.
Linking me to the bios update does not lock you into a flash..

The processor has nothing to do with it.

I would suggest reading more into activation, and supplying me with RWEverything report, or a slic dump tool pic, and the bios link for the info you require.

You ask for answers, but have not supplied the necessary (or any for that matter) information.

    Help me help you!!!!:eek::D

But you ARE, especially since your question had little to do with the OP. Start a different thread and perhaps others with the answer may be willing to help. If you absolutely insist on asking 911medic to help, then PM him directly.

DON'T hijack other's threads....its really bad etiquette....especially when you want help from the people that are part of this community....
