Try adding an "Office insider" button and use it. I don't have a subscription, so "function" is not available (not listed, not defined).
Okay, I just realized that many of my formulas are not working now in my accounting spreadsheets since I reinstalled Office with OfficeRTool. SORT(), FILTER() and other functions I regularly use are not supported in the version I currently have installed. I don't remember what version I was running before but I'd like to get back to a state where all my sheets are working. I guess I'll have to uninstall and reinstall different versions until everything works again.
Install Microsoft 365 Enterprise (O365ProPlusRetail) and convert to Mondo 2016 (KMS_VL_ALL or other tools) this gives more features than 2019/2021/LTSC
I installed Pro Plus 365 which converted to Mondo 2016. I checked for— and applied updates from within Excel and when I restarted the program I was able to use the new functions. Thanks!
However, now some of my spreadsheets which use the SORT() and FILTER() functions are broken. The fun never ends!
According to everything I've read, SORT() and FILTER() should be available on a 365 license, which is what appears to be installed: Any ideas as to why these functions are not working?
Can we also take a moment to marvel at the absurdity of having some versions of Excel that can't properly open files made in other versions because MS wants your subscription dollars. Imagine opening a Word document from a colleague but line breaks won't display. So bizarre.
Okay, I think the reason that FILTER() and SORT() are not available anymore is that I previously had LTSC installed and now I have 365/Mondo. I suspect that going back to LTSC will restore the use of my existing spreadsheets at the expense of the new text functions, for which I'll have to wait a little longer. I imagine they'll be made available to LTSC eventually.
