Unfortunately this is not a solution, but an additional request to help. Also using LG X110 and Windows 7 runs BEAUTIFULY on it (better than XP, actually, which is getting very very old) - but I can't seem to find a working activation method. Anyone had any luck?
This is indeed an interesting situation. APTIO is AMI's next-gen boot firmware. It's not even a BIOS, but rather EFI. The structure and functionality of EFI is vastly different from legacy BIOS...you'll have to use a loader for now. Good luck.
i hope msi will release a slic 2.1 bios for u120=LG x110 they did this for u90 u100 and some other winds a few days ago, but still no bios for u120
AMI Aptio is the next generation of AMI firmware. The bios will become extinct. The next standard will be Unified EFI. All other bios manufacturer will follow (are followed) already. There are already tools made for them to extract the binaries. We need the tools then we can try to mod..... If they are switching over fastly to EFI and we don't get the tools, we won't be able to mod... One positive aspect I hope, the EFI will become more universal. No matter if AMI, Phoenix or Insyde. I guess Award will not go for EFI. (Award is basically not existing anymore and belongs to Phoenix).
So in other words you're saying we need to use those loaders with the bios emulation? I hate those. Make my machine unbootable each and every time I try'em. Haven't tried'em on the LG X110 yet, though. Any recommednations? Which loader is considered more 'pro'?
WAIT! I think I'm dreaming: Your bios can be opened by EzH2O.exe. I've just tried it for fun...will have a look.
Unfortunately I cannot find an existing SLIC. Has your original bios a SLIC already? I'll continue using lzma decompression to have a closer look at it. Edit: I didn't find the lzma bytes 5D 00 00 80 00 here....
We are able to mod and flash EFI bioses, except Intel. Andy's tool soon will be final and can mod this. I'll have a look at it and will reply.
