hi i had after many attempts vista activated using modified bios.

now i have since reinstalled vista and cant activate it any more.

i use the ASUS Vista Ultimate CD key but not activating.

so basicly at the moment the situation is modified bios and a clean install of vista and still not activated,

am i missing a process ie installing certificaes or anything like that.
sorry i dont mean to sound stupid but when i got it activated before(note this is the same pc just reformated) i used and tried so many things that i lost track how it was activated exactly (besides the obviuos bios update)

    hope some one can help.

    Install Vista any version.
Install Key OEM. (need OEM key)
Install Certificate that correspond your bios SLIC. (need certificate)

For key OEM - slmgr.vbs -ipk your OEM key here in caps lock on
For certificate - slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\asus.xrm-ms (example of asus certificate in c:\)

All in command promt in administrator mode.

    Hello,

This method won't work unless you remove 2 of the updates. SP1 also incorporates changes to stop this as well. I had tried most of them but it was mostly a waste of time as none of the fake keys pass the activation. An OEM crack with a key only works for one pc if you can get it to work.

I've had no luck. Maybe you will.
