I thought I could just drag and drop it but it wont work...How can I add a folder showing my documents into the taskbar? Thank you
Yes, you may have difficulties with this, if you use Windows 22000.xxx, because there is no drag option. There may also be a situation where you can't PIN it to taskbar if there is a normal link or shortcut. To do this, you have to use explorer.exe or shell help, I tried, both work, but you have to use the old right-click menu to pin it to taskbar. Here is the better option of the two, i.e. the option using shell. First, make a new link like this on the desktop and name it Documents Library or My Documents or whatever you want. Copy this command/address to the address bar, when it is done, you can use the PIN command in the old right-click menu. Code: %windir%\explorer.exe shell::{031E4825-7B94-4DC3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}\Documents.library-ms
When you say the address bar, do you mean my browser or file explorer? The address bar thing confuses me...I have the shortcut to the folder on my desktop. Its called documents
In 22621/2 you can pin stuff to the taskbar (it will show "link" when dragging stuff there), but it won't do it for folders (and files).
is there a way to do folders or a shortcut to documents? Also maybe you can clarify what address bar he wants me to paste this.... %windir%\explorer.exe shell::{031E4825-7B94-4DC3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}\Documents.library-ms I see explorer
right-click on desktop>new>link paste that command>go ahead choose your name (Documents or whatever)>end
