I did something similar with my Asus P4P800 SE, I had the Dell SLIC but changed it yesterday to the Asus one. Have you got a copy of the unmodded BIOS? When I did mine I just got the unmodded BIOS for it and added the SLIC to that rather than modifying an already modded BIOS. It worked for me doing it this way. I also used the Asus Update program in XP to flash mine, I have a dual boot system with both 7 and XP. I found out the Asus update program doesn't detect the motherboard in 7.

why do u want to change it if you have 2.1 slic dont try to fix what isnt broken or u will end up with a dead pc trust me i know it happened to me one time already from flashing to many times
