I want to add a bios splash logo to a intel d945gclf/2. Problem is the tool that you are supposed to use to add a bios splash logo (ITK) says i only have 14 kb remaining space to add a logo. As far as i know the bios splash logo can be bitmap or jpeg but in order to get my logo under 14 kb it looks terrible. Its 640x480 and only includes 3 colors black (main background) blue (small logo in center of background) and white (text). Its not some graphically intense image so i wouldn't think it would be difficult to compress solid colors without tremendous artifacts and pixelated. If anyone knows a good tool to reduce file size with the least about of quality loss please help. Thank you.
Seems i can get it down to 40kb and looks ok, remove pxe module (dont need anyway) and still have a 3kb remaining. I create the .bio and use recovery to flash the .bio which say sucessful but i just get a blank logo screen during boot.
