Hello, I'm new here, and new to BIOS modding.

I recently acquired a Phenom 2 955 CPU. My current board, a Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 does not list it as a supported CPU. I tried it anyway, with the result that the BIOS won't export any P-States and despite all settings, it will always clock at 800MHz. I tried so many different ways, but never succeeded. Cool'n'Quiet is NOT the issue here.

I have reports that it worked for someone with the same problem on a different board by flashing the BIOS of another board and then flashing the original back. No idea how he did it.

So I tried looking into the BIOS. I read quite a bit by now, and used cbrom to try to replace the AGESACPU.ROM of my BIOS with a newer one from another BIOS. Replacing it worked fine, the board still boots (phew). But the problem remains. I'm really running out of ideas here.

Is there anything else needed to do a successful AM3-support mod?

    Thanks in advance!
