Has anyone tried WinPE 4.0? What is better compared to WinPE 3.0/3.1 The good: It has Windows 8 bootloader (Will boot faster? (Better for UEFI?)). The bad: Scripts / Software to create USB stick made for WinPE 3.0 does not work. Explorer.exe from Win 8 is not working well on WinPE 4.0. Something i noticed: WAIK installs to "C:\Program Files" while ADK intalls to "C:\Program Files (x86)\" Right now i am trying to modify Terabyte IFW script to work with ADK. By changing the paths i guess it will work. Not sure if there would be any benefit at all of using IFW on WinPE 4 instead of 3.
Sorry for posting off topic. Is there a direct link to download the offline standalone full installer of Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK)? I do realize that there is a web installer, adksetup.exe to install ADK, but it requires internet connection during installation. if it is possible, I want to directly download the offline standalone full installer. Thanks for the information.
Old scripts may not work, but the new PE will have better scripting capabilities. You can add powershell 3.0 support in addition to the netfx4 that Hali mentioned. Plus it also has a secure-boot package for working with uefi from PE.
There is only 1 installer and it gives you the option to save it to your HDD so you can transfer to other pc.
DriveSnapshot's main focus is to backup logical volumes, not entire drives. If you have several partitions on your drive, then you would have to back them up separately. If you're looking to backup an entire drive and preserve all the partitions intact, then DriveSnapshot is not the optimal tool for you. I like DriveSnapshot a lot (I even bought a license because the program is really good), but I do create my partitions manually with Microsoft's Diskpart, so I don't need any program to preserve the partition structures. I can re-create them myself Kind regards.
how can we dual boot without restart ? repair windows boot with windows 7 installation disc it`s working ?
Yes i tried it in VMware only because it creates a x86 WinPE and i have Secure Boot on my motherboard and i can only boot x64 WinPE. But it worked well in VMware.
They're the boot manager localization files. You'll have to keep at least one, but the ones you're not using can be deleted. Fonts can also be deleted, in which case you'll get the basic VGA text output instead of the custom drawn fonts and background.
