    Hiya,
I am trying to execute a bios update on a old HP notebook from 2006.
Problems is though that the bios update needs be run from a windows environment.
Another problems that this notebook recently to boot up properly and ends stuck
somewhere during the start up procedure.
What I know want try is to execute the bios update from Hirens Boot Cd.
Unfortunately I always end up with a error msg telling that I need Admin right to
    run the Winflash update program.
Does any body know to resolve this issue?
    Thx, bandwith36363

probably flash with PHLASH16 or equivalent. The archive can be opened and the .wph file removed for flash and put on usb drive or similar.

I must agree that the repair install is the best first step.
