    Flash Player ActiveX (IE version) on Windows 8 only gets updated through Windows Update, don't think you can update it manually.

    There are two versions of Flash Player.
    1. ActiveX - this is the one for Internet Explorer, the only one built into Windows 8 and auto updated.
    2. Plug-in - this is for Firefox et al, perhaps that is what you have on the enterprise machine.

    I assume, that you don't have installed the flash player in your pro environment as a plug in for Firefox. Check the difference between your two W8 versions.

    So, my understanding is, that you have mozilla on both machines? And you have the right flash player installed? Normally, when you try to play such content, the browser asks you to install missing plug ins. If you follow the regular way, you will get the appropriate version for your browser. After that, you can go to systen panel and look into flash properties and find your version as you showed us for your enterprise

    It was released today, don't know why they are still in the 11.3 version, but it is current with the same bugfixes.

    run this in command prompt. worked for me 11.5 installed. "C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtilActiveX.exe -update plugin" **edit** dont click about flash player when watching a video 11.5 is installed system still thinks its 11.3 and it will freeze.

    does the version number really matters that much?
    let it be 9.07!
    what is the difference as long as its updated to tha last bugfixes

    well normally I would say the version number does not matter so much. That being said, I have noticed that video is smoother, and is buffering alot less after the update. Maybe placebo, but stranger things have happened.
