Hi all. Well firstly dont even know if I am allowed to ask about such APPs. Sorry and delete if not... So have downloaded the official Adobe CS4 Extended trial version. I want to make this self install off a disc. Having right trouble doing this. No matter how i try i always end up with the same error. "put Adobe photoshop in D:\ I can copy the .exe files onto a folder on the hdd and get a similar error I fianlly got it to work by copying all files to a folder C:\Adobe CS4 This let me install it. this is not good at all If i were t buy a boxed version from the pc shop it would install from disc. There would be no need to copy files here, there and everywhere. What am i missing. yes i did make an AUTORUN file.... any ideas. anybody got a Photoshop CS4 they install no bother off a disc. Could you look at the file layout and show me it. cheers...
Are you trying to take a downloaded package and burn it to DVD? If so, the downloaded version of Photoshop comes in a package that decompresses and then runs. You need to burn the decompressed files to DVD. The root (main) folder will contain the following: (folders) Deployment extensions payloads redist resources (files) Photoshop CS4 Read Me.pdf Setup.exe WinBootstrapper.msi WinBootstrapper1.cab Just make your autorun file point at Setup.exe and add it before you burn.
Great Info there...Cheers... Took it one step further now. Made an AMS project which will amend the "hosts" file, install Photoshop CS4 and provide a serial. Simple for all novice users. But that info is what i was looking for.. Thanks...
I am guessing that you are pointing certain domains to the loopback device (or something similar) so you can investigate how the software "phones home" and determine whether you have any privacy concerns that should be addressed. These are the domains that I wonder about when it comes to stuff from Adobe: 3dns-2.adobe.com 3dns-3.adobe.com activate.adobe.com activate-sea.adobe.com activate-sjc0.adobe.com activate.wip3.adobe.com adobe.activate.com adobe-dns-2.adobe.com adobe-dns-3.adobe.com adobe-dns.adobe.com ereg.adobe.com ereg.wip3.adobe.com practivate.adobe.com wip3.adobe.com wwis-dubc1-vip60.adobe.com Are there other domains that raise privacy issues?
