    Hi everyone, please let me know how to block ads on MS Edge. At least until Edge have add-ons. :g:
    Thank you! :worthy::D

    Dunno :p I just use IE with the Edge engine enabled. I can see the Edge interface working on tablets, but my only tablet is an Android.

    I'm trying the winaero modified hosts file now. Slows Edge loading way down, but works for now. I say 'for now' because the ad suppliers constantly generate new servers - it's always a game of catch up one can't win no matter how many thousand of entries are added to the hosts file. I do like the supplied batch.cmd that reliably enables/reverts the hosts file.

    Use Adguard bro. It's the best solution for now.

    Editing hosts file is tedious and you'd have to update it every day or so. I use Adguard. Got a lifetime license for 2 devices for $39 from Neowin Deals. Its blocked every ad I can find so far.

    I would expect some for of adblock will be available soon after edge is a released app.

    Silly me: I misread the instructions - the batch.cmd does not revert back to the original hosts file!

    Smart me: I copied my original hosts file to another location, all back to normal now.

    re: AdGuard - Haven't tried it with Edge. Does work excellent with other browsers, but too expensive for me. There is no nice way around it. There is a dirty way around it - but can't really provide details without getting my pee-pee whacked.

    Choose the currency as Russian roubles and you will be able to purchase Adguard at an amazing price ;)

    They need to bring back the tracking protection lists from IE11 .. there is a uservoice voting page for it but I can't post links yet

    That is exactly what I used. What wasn't so easy was re-activating for another 180 days. Took awhile, but I found a work around to the best copy protection I've ever seen. (They write to a Windows non-addressable drive sector and hide it very efficiently)

    Adguard, hands down. You can get a lifetime licence for approx. $12 or so using the special currency trick. It's great at filtering modern apps as well. I also do a significant amount of filtering within my router as well.
