i have been trying to make my own oem multi xp cd but for some reason i just cant get it to install properly without requesting or entering a key to be activated. have tried to make several and none worked properly and i believe i have followed the steps in the method 1 in "Create your own MULTI-OEM Windows XP DVD" using ultra iso and ran oembios tool to get the crc values. 1. have saved xp sp3 oem iso on c drive, 2. downloaded/extracted WinXP_MULTIOEM_v1 to desktop, 3. downloaded/extracted the required Oembios Filesets from i have been trying to make my own oem multi xp cd but for some reason i just cant get it to install properly without requesting or entering a key to be activated. 3. downloaded/extracted the required Oembios Filesets from skydrive.live link and put into the multioem folders (only trying 6 filesets), 4. moved the oem folder, xp home oemscan file into root of iso and the WINNT.sif file to the I386 folder in the iso. 5. save and burn cd. but it keeps asking for key during install and if key is skipped it is still not activated after install and have tried doing from different pc and laptops just incase. how can i check my xp sp3 oem cd is proper untouched or genuine ? i take it you extract after downloading the oem bios filesets to get put into oem folder, ie the 5 files from each fileset ? do i need to put a key into the WINNT.sif file maybe ? the process seems simply enough and hope im not just being stupid and missing something out, any help or advice is appreciated, thanks
You need to add keys to C:\WinXP_MULTIOEM\XP_PRO\oemscan.ini if using Xp Pro or C:\WinXP_MULTIOEM\XP_HOME\oemscan.ini if using home same for others XP_MCE e.c.t.
all the keys are listed in the oemscan.ini that i downloaded with WinXP_MULTIOEM_v1, i thought it choose the correct oem key from the list once it finds the crc value during install ?
that should be ok just realized the files on skydrive are compressed oembios files you need to uncompress them using the expand command. or you can use 7-Zip compressed file OEMBIOS.BI_ uncompressed oembios.bin .
i thought they where uncompressed when downloading them, but will try and redo later and let you know how get on.
It will work once the files are decompressed. If you were making a single manufacturer cd you would put the one set of oembios files into i386 folder they need to be in compressed format.
