after disabling cortana in services, deleting the folder..it still turned its self on

    last week followed a tutorial on how to disable and remove cortana

    disabled in services
    closed the process
    deleted the folder

    but today i checked the processes running and cortana was there

    this is really weird, any help?

    There is a problem with distinction.
    Cortana is the Search app. It's the box in the taskbar.
    It also handles the speech stuff.

    i disabled that, i disabled search function, i use a program called Everything for search now

    but cortana still turns its self on

    If you disconnect your M$ account Cortana will get disabled.

    If you uninstall Windows 10, Cortana will cease to exist.

    Nope, the DOS version of Cortana will still be there to greet you, and if you turn off your system, then you will be called on your mobile from her, personally. :)

    Uh oh. Sounds like she's self-aware. Time to put on the tinfoil hat and hide in the cellar. Lmfao.

    But if you want to disable your MS account, its in settings. You'd have to switch to a local account and not use an MS account at all. However, I don't have this issue. If I switch Cortana off, she stays off.
