Hi to everyone. I slipstreamed all Adobe acrobat 9 Pro extended updates up to 9.3.3. it is showing ' pro extended version' everywhere except when i click on the - help menu -> about acrobat 9 pro extended, and the pop up window shows - Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. I slipstreamed for about 3 times thinking there was an error somewhere. I installed adobe acrobat 3 times and (only) the help menu still shows "Standard" edition. I used this command: eg: msiexec.exe /a Acro3d.msi /p C:\AIP\AcrobatUpd933_all_incr.msp Acrobat just works fine, but it's wired to show Standard edition when it is Pro extended. Does it have to do with slipstreaming? If not can anyone help me with this issue Please? Thank you
Can anyone Please tell me which file/dll/exe is in charge for showing in the 'About" menu: Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard/Pro/Extended....? Thanks
I wouldnt know but i was wondering if you can tell me how you slipstreamed them into the installation. I have the official DVD and have all the updates in a folder seperately.
I forgot to say you should slipstream only the "Quarterly" updates, you don't need the others. If you install for e.g the 9.1.1 after 9.1.0 the 9.1.2 won't install. This is the right order of updates to slipstream: 1) AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp 2) AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp 3) AcrobatUpd920_all_incr.msp 4) AcrobatUpd930_all_incr.msp 5) AcrobatUpd932_all_incr.msp 6) AcrobatUpd933_all_incr.msp chears
I found the file responssible for showing the version in -> Help -> about menu: it's called - splash.dll i copied it from another Acrobat 9 intallation and paste it in my slipstreamed acrobat folder (overwrite it). Reinstalled, and now it's showing " Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended" HAPPY
Thank you for your "Thanks" It's nice to hear that. It was not easy to figure out which .dll file was in charge of that. I'm glad I found it and happy to share it with you.
I noticed after extracting the ISO I have that it contains all the "quarterly" updates (minus the 9.3.3 one) in the setup directory. And the setup.ini is as follows. Code: [Startup] RequireOS=Windows XP RequireMSI=3.0 RequireIE=6.0.2600.0 [Product] PATCH=AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd911_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd913_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd920_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd930_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd931_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd932_all_incr.msp msi=Acro3D.msi Languages=1033;1031;1036 1033=English (United States) 1031=German (Germany) 1036=French (France) [Windows XP] PlatformID=2 MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 ServicePackMajor=2 [MSI Updater] Path=WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe I'm guessing it's the original v9 release, and it is simply patching it to the latest version on the fly at the point of installation.
@ CIPHER Yes that release is patching during intallation. Here we are talking of slipstreaming updates to the .msi file. The installer includes all the updades. It's not not patching when installed. @ everyone If PDFMaker (Acrobat button) is unavailable in a Microsoft Office 2007 applications, like Word/Excel...ect create a .bat file with this command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll" for windows x64 change C:\Program Files\ to C:\Program Files (x86)\ RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR
APEX9_Win_WEB_WWEFG.7z\Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended\Acrobat9\Data1.cab extract Splash.dll_3D & rename it to Splash.dll everything will be fine...
