New here, so I'm hoping this is the right place for some advice. If not, just point me the right way and I'll get my coat...

I have a shiny new Toshiba A300 1BZ notebook with a Phoenix 2.7 (14/04/08) Bios that won't allow USB boot. Before you ask, there is no option anywhere for usb boot, I even checked with Toshiba (not very helpful, as usual).

Some early versions did have usb in the boot options, so am I right to assume in this newer bios Toshiba has just had it turned it off??

There is no newer bios upgrade available from Toshiba and the downgrades are not available as far as I can see.

Is there anywhere I could look for a modded bios to allow USB boot, or can I mod a bios myself (would need to be point and click)?
