Updating software either takes forever, or doesn't work at all, and after a while the updates are gone, and I have no idea either they got installed or not. And other mini issues, like one time I launch it and have the green buttons with Top Free, Top Paid, New Releases, the next time they are gone. Any ideas?

I think the reason why I have no prob with mine is because I dont use it, well just for pinball game :D the few times I messed with it , it was operational however not attractive :aerobueke:

You are not the only one.
MStore says there are 15 updates.
When i install them they all fail.
All the tiles are not working afterwards.
I have a legal version of W8 pro 64 bit.
I did not find any working solution on internet for this problem.
Only restoring my drive image brings me back to working tiles.

So, the restoring brings you working tiles. How come? These tiles seems to have worked sometimes before. What is the reason they don't any more? Ask yourself what you did to your system. Any modification on the start screen or desktop, Start-menu soft etc? Just guessing ...
Btw, my store(s) works like a charm on more than 12 machines in the meantime. All perfect and most of the machines are different only some are same :D

To make you Windows Store work, you need to keep these Windows Services running:

    1. Windows Firewall
    2. Windows Store Service (WSService)
    3. Windows Update

If you disable any single one of these, you will get errors in Windows Store, i.e while downloading/installing/updating Apps.

I'm greeted by these messages almost every visit I make to the windows store. o_O It still works, it's just unbearably slow and unresponsive...

I remember such messages the day when store was opened but quite a few days later, I never had such problem any more. Perhaps this has to do with local adjustments for the store in your country. Here it is as fast as most other Internet applications

Well I guess this needs to be reported. I hope MS releases a Windows Update for that.

it happened to me when NIS 2013 disabled W8 native firewall, reanbling W8 firewall solved that issue, in the meantime Symantec delivered a patch, everything OK now.

My problem with installing and updating apps in windows store stayed until this week.
Now it suddenly works good. Due to windows 8 updates??
    Happy at last.
